I'm trying to figure out how optimize my code away from countless if/else statements.
My current code is:

As you can see, this is a mess of if/else statements checking for specific rarities and appending to a div depending on the current rarity. There are over 25 different rarities so I figured I can't keep going this way and I'd also need to accommodate every rarity going forward manually through code. I'm also running a count for each to output how many they are.
Is there an optimal way of assigning variables for the counters and dynamically create div class names depending on the result?
EDIT: Maybe an optimal method would be creating an array of all rarities. Since this would still require manual updating, maybe I can query the database through PHP to get all rarities and then fill this array...
Since in the browser var x = 1 is equal to var window.x = 1, you can use the global object to create dynamic variable names.

But it's probably better to just create a scoped object, that will store the count for you.

You could use a dictionary to keep track of the counts and use the rarity as the key. You could also cut out on a lot of code repetition if you change your classes to match the rarity too.

Could you build a map object? The key would be the card_rarity name and the value would be {element, count}. A map.has(key) will check if it already exists - if it does, get the {element, count} value, extract the element name, update the count value and then use map.set(key, {element, count}) to update the map. If the key doesn't exist, create a new one.
You would still need to manually create the elements that you are appending the data onto - though you could, perhaps, automate the creation of those as well if it is a new key?

You could also simplify the code down using a hashmap and some ES5 higher-order functions:

You can do this much more simply using an object. Let the values be the keys of an object, then just increment the count of each property as you go. At the end, you can get an array of the unique keys and their values:

But the first example is a bit easier to digest.
I think the approach is what's making it difficult. A hash table / associative array would be much easier to work with.
With a hash table (an object {} in JS), you can store each word in a key and increment the value of the key when you encounter the word again. Then, at the end, just go through the hash table and gather up all the keys which have small values. Those are your unique words.

Some issues and suggestions :
Don't use var twice for the same variable.
Browsers deal with it ok, but for clarity you should only be declaring your variables once.
Always localize your loop counters - forgetting a var before your i and j will cause them to become global variables.
This is relevant when you have a page with lots of code - all global variables will show up in the debugger's watch list at all times, making it harder to debug your code.)
Use the array literal notation [] instead of the function form Array.
The function form is longer and it's easier to forget the new. It's also easier to read (IMO).
Use more whitespace (it won't bite), such as before and after an equals sign:

var x=1;
It makes the code easier to read and most people don't overdo it.
Indent your code when it's inside a block (e.g. function, if, else, while, for, etc.).
This makes it easier to read the control flow of the code and will help prevent bugs.
Use three equals signs (===) unless you are using loose equality on purpose.
This will help someone looking at your code later (probably yourself) understand better what the test is supposed to be testing.

Your problem is trying to access a property of a "deep" javascript object using its path.

There is no built-in way to do this in javascript.
There are plenty of libraries to do that, for example, with selectn, this would become something like (I have not tested it, so I don't know if the index part will work, but you get the idea) :

I have a big question.
I have many Strings in my Programm and want to check these Strings on there values.
I wrote a Loop for it, but insted of the Definition of an String he is creating a new value. It's basicly really difficult to discribe, also because i am basicly German.

This suggestion is based on my presumption that you're trying to create the names of the vars you want to check, which won't work, whereas this approach lets you store all values (however many) in the same array and then iterate over that array to find any values that are equal to an empty string.
If you really want to stick with your current approach, you could do the following:

But I can't think why you'd want to; plus the use of global variables is poor practice as it explicitly makes those variables available to every closure within the document, which allows them to be easily, and accidentally, overwritten.
In a reasonably up-to-date browser, that implements Array.prototype.every, you could dispense with the explicit iteration:

I have found a few posts on here with similar questions but not entirely the same as what I am trying. I am currently using a simple if statement that checks the data the user enters then checks to see if it starts with a number of different values. I am doing this with the following:

I have about 20-30 different if, else statements that are basically checking the post code entered and finding the county associated. However some of these if statements are incredibly long so I would like to store the values inside an array and then in the if statement simply check value.indexOf() for each of the array values.
So in the above example I would have an array as follows for the statement:

then inside the indexOf() use each value
Would this be possible with minimal script or am I going to need to make a function for this to work? I am ideally wanting to keep the array inside the if statement instead of querying for each array value.

For an even shorter condition, you might also resort to regex (anchor and alternation):

No, it doesn’t exist, but you can make a function to do just that:

My recomendation is to rethink your approach and use regular expressions instead of indexOf.
But if you really need it, you can use the following method:

I'd forget using hard-coded logic for this, and just use data:

Take successive characters off the right hand side of the postcode and do a trivial lookup in the table until you get a match. Four or so lines of code ought to do it:

I'd suggest normalising your strings first to ensure that the space between the two halves of the postcode is present and in the right place.

Plenty of ways to do it, but I like nice data structures, so ...
Split the list on comma, then loop over list, looking for value:

Here's a bit of a "out of the box" solution. You could create a struct for your property id's that you pass into the json searilizer have the key and the value the same. Then you can test the struct for hasOwnProperty. For example:

campaignIDs.hasOwnProperty("12"); //true
campaignIDs.hasOwnProperty("32"); //false
This way if the list is pretty long you wont have to loop through all of the potential properties to find a match. Here's a fiddle to see it in action:

I don't like Billy's answer to this, variables within the function have been declared in the global scope and it is somewhat over complicated. If you have a list of ids as a string in your js just search for the id you have from user input.
