I am trying to make a markdown editor, but I am having an issue with my IFrame. It sets the IFrame source to about:blank to clear the screen, but it doesn't write to the iframe again until a key is pressed. How can I fix this?

var preview = document.getElementById("preview");
var md = window.markdownit();
preview.contentWindow.document.open();
function updatePreview() {
preview.src = "about:blank";
preview.contentWindow.document.write(md.render(textbox.value));

Update
You could use jquery on key up function? So after the cuser has finished typing it will update?
$( "#target" ).keyup(function() {
#update iframe code here
});
You could refresh the iframe every 30 seconds?
<script>
window.setInterval("reloadIFrame();", 30000);
function reloadIFrame() {
document.frames["framename"].location.reload();
}
</script>
I always save this peace of code. It's great.

There are two versions of code. The first version is there is a main page containing an iframe and dialog <div>. The iframe will load the dia.html into the parent <div id="popdiv"> and fire it as a dialog. The dialog itself will initiate a Datepicker with elem.datepicker();.
The second version is just the ideal version for what I want which is an iframe fire the parent main page dialog and have a Datepicker running. But this approach cannot load the dia.html page into the <div id="popdiv"> which is not as handy.
My question:
Why is that when I want to select the element$('#myInput', window.parent.document) in the dia.html, I need to add window.parent.document after selector?
I try to figure it out by checking the html code in development tools. But I had no idea why it is required. How does query Dialog work?
How to make the elem.datepicker(); inside the dia.html work inside the dialog if I want to use the .load('dia.html') approach? What was the reason it didn't work?

Does anyone here know how to handle this task? I think it should be pretty easy but I cant find anything on the Internet
I have a very simple index.html file that I am using to learn Vue. I have attached a click event on a button and it is supposed to alert the user.

main.js
new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
message: 'What is your name?'
},
methods: {
greet: function(){
alert("Hello to you too.");
},
}
});
I thought that the function needed the event param in the function but that did not help. Is there something that I am missing?
Your Vue app is bound to #app.
Stuff that happens outside that div, Vue doesn't parse or know about.
Move your button inside the #app div and it should function. You may also want to give your <button> a type="button" - that'll prevent it from trying to submit a form, which is the default behavior. (You can also do <button #click.prevent="greet"> to accomplish the same thing. The .prevent prevents the default behavior.)
I am beginner of javascript.
but it doesn't work. plz help me.
I am using Microsoft VSCode.
This is my main.html.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="ie=edge"/>

</head>
<body>
<div class="login_box">
<h1><span class="badge" id="loginbtn">main</span>
</div>
</body>
</html>
This is script.js
console.log("start!");
var loginBtn = document.getElementById("loginbtn");
loginBtn.onclick = function(){
console.log("onclick event start");
};
You need change the:
<link rel="javascript" src="script.js"/>
into:
<script src="script.js"></script>
first choice:put script at the bottom of the body
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="ie=edge" />
<script src="script.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://unpkg.com/papercss#1.4.1/dist/paper.min.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
<title>Ultimate R-S-P</title>
</head>
<body>
<div class="login_box">
<h1><span class="badge" id="loginbtn">main</span></h1>
</div>
<script>
console.log("start!");
var loginBtn = document.getElementById("loginbtn");
loginBtn.onclick = function() {
console.log("onclick event start");
};
</script>
</body>
</html>
second choice:move your script content to the window.onload=function(){}
window.onload = function() {
console.log("start!");
var loginBtn = document.getElementById("loginbtn");
loginBtn.onclick = function() {
console.log("onclick event start");
};
};
if you choose this,you have to change your script tag
<link rel="javascript" src="script.js"/>
to
<script src="script.js"></script>
The < link > tag defines a link between a document and an external resource.
The < link > tag is used to link to external style sheets.
The < script > tag is used to define a client-side script (JavaScript).
So, you need to change this code:
<link rel="javascript" src="script.js"/>
into this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="script.js"></script>
Use this tag not the link tag
<script src="script.js"></script>
Also fix your html you are missing an h1 end tag
<h1><span class="badge" id="loginbtn">main</span></h1>
Add Script tag as below.
You have used link tag instead of script.
<script type="text/javascript" src="script.js">
actually i was confused.
that was location of javascript.
solution
<body>
<div class="login_box">
<h1><span class="badge" id="loginbtn">main</span>
</div>
**<script type="text/javascript" src="script.js"></script>**
</body>
i put the javascript code in the body.
I just want to trigger an event like release or change event with a jQuery knob. According to documentation, it should work with this:
<script>
$(".dial").knob({
'release' : function (v) { /*make something*/ }
});
</script>
In my code i have something very similar:
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<link rel="icon" href="img/favicon.png">
<title>Knobs</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.11.2.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/text.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.knob.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div class="knobBar">
<input id="gain1" class="knob"
data-angleOffset=-125
data-angleArc=250
data-bgColor="#262626"
data-fgColor="#00ff00"
data-rotation="clockwise"
value="0"
data-min="0"
data-max="100"
data-lineCap="round"
data-displayPrevious="true"
data-width="5%"
data-font="Advanced LED Board-7">
</body>
And I put this at the end of the html file:
<script>
//Listeners for Knobs changes
$(function () {
$('#gain1').knob({
'release': function (v) {
console.log(v);
gain_1.gain.value = v / 100;
}});
})
</script>
I just don't get it to work. It doesn't print anything to console, so obviously is not triggering the function.
